Dr. Jana Weber, PT, DPT, OCS, CMPT
Jana grew up in Garden Plain, KS, and graduated from Garden Plain High School. She attended Fort Hays State University where she graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Health and Human Performance.
After graduating from Fort Hays, Jana worked as an Exercise Specialist in Cardiac Rehabilitation at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. She was then accepted into the University of Kansas Medical Center’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program.
During Doctor of Physical Therapy school, she was very interested in all fields of physical therapy from inpatient rehab to wound care, but it was during her long term rotation at a private practice in Kansas City, MO, she discovered a passion for outpatient physical therapy.
One thing Jana enjoys about being a Doctor of Physical Therapy is genuinely getting to know her patients and the time she gets to spend with them each treatment. She enjoys being able to help her patients return to the activities that they love.
Jana began her Doctor of Physical Therapy career at a private outpatient clinic in Overland Park, KS where she spent 3 years studying and applying motor control and specific muscle activation techniques and training. Jana developed a strong passion for motor control training during this time.
In spring of 2014, Jana’s husband, Eddie, was offered a teaching job in the Wichita area and they were excited for the opportunity to return “home” to the Garden Plain community with their daughter, Hazel. Since then they have welcomed two more daughters into their family; Nora and Ruby.
Jana chose to join Harter Physical Therapy because of the atmosphere that promotes constant clinical growth as a Doctor of Physical Therapy while prioritizing the patient’s goals and personal connections with each patient. With Jana’s expertise in motor control training, she has been paramount to implementing and training staff on approaches to more efficiently recruit and isolate muscle groups.
Jana is a Senior Doctor of Physical Therapy at Harter Physical Therapy. Since joining the HPT family in 2015, she has went on to complete training and extensive testing to become a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist (OCS) as well as Certified Manual Physical Therapist (CMPT).
